Discover the perfect additional linkerin drum for your drum carder. Our user-friendly drum carder design facilitates easy drum swapping, enabling you to have different cloth types for carding and blending various fibers.
Individual drums are available in three TPI options:
- 54 TPI (Coarse): Suitable for the coarsest wool types.
- 72 TPI (Standard): Ideal for common wool types.
- 120 TPI (Fine): Perfect for fine fibers like cotton, alpaca, or angora.
What’s included in the package:
- Drum with attached carding cloth
- Steel shaft with pre-mounted O-rings
- Pully already attached
Changing drums is a straightforward process:
- Remove the handle using the provided Allen key.
- Unfasten the 4 screws with the Allen key.
- Take off the 2 wooden fixers with bearings from the old drum.
- Lift out the old drum.
- Remove the drive belt.
- Insert the new drum and place the drive belt on the small pulley before securing.
- Mount the 2 wooden fixers back onto the carder using the 4 screws.
- Cross (twisted) the drive belt onto the small drum.
- Tighten all screws, maintaining a distance between the two drums equal to the thickness of a credit card. Ensure the teeth on both drums do not touch.
- Re-attach the handle, making sure the pins don’t touch and point backward.
Important reminders:
TPI on both drums should be equal, or the small drum should be coarser than the main drum. Possible configurations are:
54 TPI Lickerin – 54 TPI Main-drum
54 TPI Lickerin – 72 TPI Main-drum
72 TPI Lickerin – 72 TPI Main-drum
72 TPI Lickerin – 120 TPI Main-drum
120 TPI Lickerin – 120 TPI Main-drum
Ensure the pins do not touch each other and point in the correct direction, both pointing backward. Follow these steps, and you’re ready to start carding!
